First, figure out the reason for measuring media in the first place, and then set goals towards that. If you're measuring media for a brand of some sort, consider how to measure the specific activities you engage in overtime to know whats successful and what isn't. Make sure you set your metrics to track what it is you're looking for. If your goals are to track how many purchases a person has made from your company then track how many times a person views your site, and what they do when there. If your measuring engagement on social media then know what hot and what's not. Look at comments and what's being shared. See what the people want and it can help your brand. Market your ads and merchandise towards what's trending. Monitor the data once you have your measurements set towards your goals. Continue to track, report, and improve your measurements by making calculated adjustments.
