Basically, the main gain that businesses gain from measuring social media is the fact that one can gain massive amounts of data dealing with whether or not a company is doing good. The biggest challenges that these businesses can go through is not only keeping up with the constant flow of new trends in the internet but also adapting to new social media platforms that emerge in the social media ecosystem. When it comes to privacy, that's out of the picture. Businesses usually use our data without us knowing, but at this point it feels like the price we pay to join the social media ecosystem.
