Measuring Media

The benefits of measuring media can apply to many different situations. For instance, if a small company or brand is wanting to generate more sales or see in what areas they can improve, they can measure data. They can see what is trending and with that data, they can adjust themselves to sell the most trendy products and target their audience. People who want to build their following on social media can also use the technique of measuring data to their advantage. They can see how well their engagement does and then try to produce similar content to that in hopes that their audience will react the same way. Many social media platforms already have a way users can see their own analytics and engagement. There can be challenges when measuring media, such as not being able to produce content that one's audience enjoyed once. This could slow someone down in their growth, but data may not always be correct. When dealing with measuring media, one could also be dealing with an individual's private data. User data can be sold and their information can be spread anywhere and used for solicitation or for other illegal purposes. There have been many user data breaches reported, such as with social media sites like Facebook or with a bank such as Chase. There are always risks when dealing with user data and when measuring media.
