What is Social Media?

Social media is a way for us to stay connected through the internet. All sites that we use to communicate with others is a form of social media. I think we often forget that shopping sites are social media. We look at other people's ratings and reviews. Even leaving a comment on Amazon is creating a connection with another person. We use social media so often that go without it now would be very difficult. We don't even realize how connected we are to everything. There are very few sites that we don't use to send and receive information.
