What is Social Media?

For me, social media are websites and apps that allows people to create and share content to the public. There are many forms of social media, for example, photo sharing, blogging, video sharing, business networks, reviews, and much more. Social media use to be primarily be used for interacting with friends and family, however, now many businesses are using social media to promote and interact with their customers. The most used social media apps have been Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and WhatsApp. 

Pinterest is an app that we traditionally do not consider social media but I would include in this category. Pinterest is a great app to get ideas and upload pictures. I personally use Pinterest when I need ideas for decor or crafting ideas. I tend to create "boards" for each thing I am looking for. For example, one of my boards include different decor ideas for my bedroom. This app is great to get inspiration. 

Social media is becoming a huge part of our everyday lives. Many of us wake up and one of the first things we do is check our social medias. Social media is still expanding and can't wait to see what is to come.
