Self Analysis

Throughout this course, I have learned a lot about social media. I was looking forward to being in this class because social media is already such a fascinating subject, and being able to study it more in-depth was fun. A topic that sparked my interest and that I enjoyed discussing was how the internet and social media like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter rely on cookies and algorithms to collect data from us. Sometimes these sites are collecting our information without us knowing, and it could even get to the point where they watch our every move. I realized that social media has become essential in our everyday lives. It is revolutionizing everything, the way we communicate, engage with others, and makes our lives a bit easier by facilitating tasks. I do think I am a better version of myself because I leave this course with more knowledge about this powerful tool we call social media. Along with the benefits, negatives, different uses, and a greater understanding of how it impacts us as a society today.
