There
are many social media etiquette rules. Some become viral and stay on the
internet for years. However, what etiquette rules might surface in the upcoming
years, is the real question. Some of those social media rules I see to be more
widely known are the liking before sharing content, originated from Facebook. In the past few months, I saw that people would get somewhat triggered if their
images or memes were shared without first liking the image. I see “liking” a
post as asking for permission to share something but in a wordless way. This is
very in the uprise, but what about in the future? I think perhaps sharing content
from other sources may include some form of credit. Perhaps instead of liking and
then sharing, maybe people tagging, give some credit or indication where the content
came from. This is even more so as hundreds of memes are created by the minute and
people take credit or lack consideration of the creativeness of the person who
created the meme.
