Pre-Web Technology vs Now

One of the first technological devices I remember myself using was this portable CD movie player my parents had. I remember going to Blockbuster and picking out movies to rent, and watching them in the car as we went on road trips or getting movies that my uncle would put on CDs for us. I loved that DVD player and I can remember sneaking it into my bedroom to watch movies as I was supposed to be asleep. I had a collection of all my favorite movies in a CD case and would be fascinated by how a simple piece of plastic, that is the CD, could contain hours of entertainment.  Nowadays, we have apps like Netflix (I do remember when Netflix movies came in the mail) and Hulu that can provide all of our streaming needs. Using CDs now to stream movies is not very common since many people can access any movie they want via applications like Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, HBO, and so on. These apps can provide us with instant entertainment as we have a much larger selection available to us by a simple tap on a screen. My little brother is 8 and it is amazing to me the amount of technology that was available 10 years ago, when I was 8, to now. Technology will never cease to amaze me and will always be evolving.
