For this blog assignment of pre-web technology vs modern technology I've chosen the dictionary but not just any dictionary. The Godfather of dictionaries. The good ol' paper back Webster dictionary ( or any other paper back dictionary). And it's formidable opponent... The all-knowing Google. Lol. In all seriousness though, I remember pre internet when we had to use the book form of dictionaries to look up meanings of words. They provided not only meanings though, but sentences using the word, synonyms, and anonyms for the word as well. Now, we have Google, and other online sources, that provide all of that and more than what our hard copy dictionaries could provide and the convenience of using Google compared to the OG of dictionaries is far beyond satisfying. No endlessly flipping through pages risking the chance of paper cuts and finger cramps. Just the ease of typing in a word and voila! You have what you're looking for (plus more). I think Google takes the belt in this one.
