Last year, I got a Great Dane, and I thought it would be extra helpful to join a group on Facebook called “Great Dane Owners.” It was another way to learn more about this breed. I do consider this group a community because it is bringing many people, especially dog owners, together. There are about 48,000 members in this circle, and it will continue to expand. I find these types of communities useful because I can view other people’s stories, tips, pictures, and questions about Great Danes. I find it so fascinating to see that many of these virtual communities have established their guidelines, which makes them seem even more official.
